The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys is the fifth studio album by Traffic, released in 1971. As with other Traffic albums, The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys featured different forms and offshoots of rock including jazz rock, progressive rock, as well as classic rock and roll.
The album features the #93 Billboard singled chart hit "Rock & Roll Stew" and the FM hit, "The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys." The album was certified gold less than a year after its release in the United States, and eventually certified platinum in 1996.
My love of Traffic knows no bounds. This record is an old friend. I once got into a fight with some one who wanted to take it off the turntable at a party. I said "you don't take off a Traffic album until it's ended" He ignored me, took it off and put on some punk rock. I hit him in the face.
